![]() On the point of exploration: I did find this week of messing around to get the new system up and running, to be very educational! (ha ha.groan!) as I'm now on win 8.1, which I totally love. Although your point is taken with respect to apple working out of the box (sentiments held by my local sales guy, whose voice now echoes in my head as I type this) I just don't think I could have gone to 11 any cheaper on the hardware side. (although, I will toss in a third hard drive and add a more powerful powersupply at some point) as I want enough juice to easily run a sample drive, a write drive, and a system drive, all in one box. Playing with PT 11 on my current set-up hits me with the revelation that I may stay put where I am for a very very very long time, again at a entry point that was exceptionally affordable - I am pleased. In fact, this new computer system (again at under $500 at base price) blows away my HD2 system, that I just parted out at way more then $500 (love it when that happens) I can use the focusrite mix control software to give folks zero (perceived) latency while tracking, which was really the only reason I had stayed with HD for so long on V8.with an older (approved) computer system. I scored an open box Asus m11bb with a 3.70 Quad 6700 proc, 12 gigs of ram, and a 1T harddrive for under $500, tossed in a firewirecard and another 1T drive (that I had kicking around.) Grabbed my Focusrite Saffire 40 and Octopre MK 2 that I was running PT 9 Vanilla on.well after a week of installing and trouble shooting, I now have a smoking PT 11 Vanilla system that appears to easily exceed the capabilities of (in terms of power) my recently parted out HD 2 PCI system, that ran on my Dell 690.Īll-in-all, I am experiencing a significant functional upgrade from my 7 year-old Dell 690 system (ha ha - go figure) The apple solution is compelling, but from the perspective of price: Thanks for the tip on AVG - I will explore this,ha ha.with caution. It is nice to be up and running again.whew!Ī complete change of systems is indeed scary - but exciting as well. Thanks for the suggestions - I'm sure it's something real simple Running.till then tracktion 5 and Live are running waves so there's where I'll live until I get PT 11 and waves all sorted out ![]() ![]() Ha ha - I'll report back on what went wrong once I get her all up and Wait for Waves CS to wake up to a new week of fun and gamesĪll in all, a usual Sunday - cept for the Waves not installing bit turn-off anti-virus, uninstall of PT and Wavesġ3. I've tried by the following steps to get all to play.no luck yetġ. I just updated my WUP - so running current - and PT is a trial, downloaded yesterday - so all is current there Hi - I can see my aax plugs in the same folder that you have cited - and yup I'm good to go with my license.at least the cloud licenser indicates so Thanks for the help (your suggestions have got me thinking) - but now, I'm declaring it the weekend, and shutting down my PC - hey - that sounds refreshing on a Sunday morning! I'm certain it's something simple - but isn't everything, once you know it. I'll let you know how it goes after I chat again with waves CS again Monday.or Tuesday (fingers crossed) (a man can only reinstall so many times without loooosing it - ha ha, and I have reached a point where I know that I am at a loss with respect to understanding why PT sees the aax files buy claims them to be invalid (I have refreshed my license to my computer from the waves online cloud authorizer, and waves do show up in ableton live as VST's so I know I'm running a valid authorized Waves Shell for VST.just bumping into troubles with PT and AAX.) I'll wait for Waves to respond again to my situation. Waves CS tossed me off a very quick couple of steps, I performed these to no avail. PT sees the aax upon launch but comes back with a invalid aax message. I have a fresh download of both the PT 11 Trial and my newly updated Waves Gold - both downloaded from their respective sites yesterday. Hi - I did download the installer - I'm as current as current can be.
